Locks On Customer Portal Accounts
Have you ever logged into your Customer Portal account and locks appear on the various resources? You may not have registered your product.  To fix this issue, log into your customer portal account and click on the "register my products" link.  After the product has been registered (using the latest version), the locks will be gone and you will have full access to all the subscription links that are available to any customers that have current subscription with their Reseller.
Please Note:  Users MUST select the latest version available, not the latest version that they are using.  Example:  User is eligible for 2011 but is using 2010, when selecting the product to register they MUST choose 2011.

Product Spotlight

SolidWorks Simulation

SolidWorks simulation technology ensures the quality and performance of your design before you commit to production. Comprehensive analysis tools let you test models digitally for valuable insight early in the design process. With the information you develop, you can easily determine methods to reduce weight and material costs, improve durability and manufacturability, optimize margins, and compare design alternatives to best meet specific customer requirements.

SolidWorks offers a suite of simulation packages that let you set up a virtual real-world environment to test your product designs. Test against a broad range of parameters throughout the design process- like durability, dynamic response, heat and pressure, even fluid dynamics- to evaluate performance and make decisions to improve product quality and safety. Simulation lowers cost and speeds time to market by reducing the number of physical prototypes you need before going into production.

During the month of September we will be running specials on the SolidWorks Simulation software.  Please contact your Account Manager for details.

Tech Tip

Take Control of Your Splines!

When you make a spline and it does not look the way you wanted, don't delete it...adjust it! Many users don't realize that the spline tool can be easily manipulated. For example:

  • Click on a point and drag it.
  • Drag the spline handles to change magnitude and direction.
  • Right click on the spline for options to insert a spline point and use other tools to manipulate and analyze your curves.

Take a look at a quick video demonstrating using the spline tool to match curves in a hand sketch of a bottle.
