Many companies use
SolidWorks to achieve optimal productivity in design; now with
SolidNEST, your company can also achieve optimal productivity in
material utilization and machine motion.
How It Works

A 3D model of a part can be created in SolidWorks. Using
SolidNEST, this part can be unfolded into the part's flat pattern
shape while considering bending allowances and corner details. The
flat pattern shape can then be nested and NC code generated for
profile cutting.
SolidNEST also nests SolidWorks assemblies involving flat
material components such as plywood panels. SolidNEST nests
the individual parts for optimal material utilization and then
generates NC code for a cutting machine.
Applications

SolidWorks and SolidNEST can be used with numerous cutting
machines and in a variety of industries, including:
Cutting machines
- laser
- oxyfuel
- plasma
- water jet
- profile punch
- wood router
Industries
- consumer product design
- medical
- injection mold
- packaging machinery
Benefits & Features
SigmaNEST's powerful technology gives SolidNEST the ability
to:
- create efficient nested part layouts
- effortlessly produce NC programs
- maximize production

Automatic nesting ensures optimal utilization of material,
allowing more parts to be produced from less material. Machine
motion optimization using Advanced NC Programming ensures minimum
machine cycle time, increasing the production capacity of existing
equipment. Advanced part sequencing functions to create the most
optimal cutting path possible.
The true shape nesting algorithm supports parts in parts,
multiple torches, and remnant nesting. True shape nesting gives you
the power to:
- reduce remnant material inventory
- speed up NC programming
- improve material utilization
SolidNEST ensures efficient use of cutting consumables such as
gas, nozzles, and optics. Cutting machine throughput is
dramatically increased with SolidNEST's unique tip-up part
avoidance, pierce reduction, and automatic continuous cutting
technology.
