Urgent Hotfix Alert - SolidWorks 2012 SP0.0 Toolbox

10 November 2011

This message is an alert to inform you that a Hotfix solution is now available to address two SolidWorks 2012 SP0.0 Toolbox upgrade problems that could potentially impact many of your customers.  Neither of the problems below impact new 2012 SolidWorks Toolbox installations, where the SolidWorks Toolbox data is not being upgraded from a previous major version.

Problem Overview

The problems that are the focus of this alert (and are corrected by the newly-available Hotfix) are:

  • SPR 627126 (Toolbox data upgraded on an operating system that uses commas as the decimal symbol will result in unusable Toolbox parts.)  For more information on this SPR, please see Knowledge Base Solution S-056855
  • SPR 627178 (Toolbox customized part numbers and descriptions are no longer displayed after upgrading to SolidWorks 2012.)  For more information on this SPR, please see Knowledge Base Solution S-056856.

Hotfix Overview

There is a Hotfix available to correct both problems with affected 2012 SP0.0 Toolbox datasets.  The Hotfix and instructions are attached to both Knowledge Base Solutions mentioned above, as well as S-056921.
