Training - SolidCAM

DesignPoint offers a variety of SolidCAM training courses:

Course: 2.5D Milling
Description: The goal of this course is to teach students how to use SolidCAM to machine various parts using 2.5D Milling technologies.
Duration: 2 days
Prerequisites: SolidWorks Fundamentals
Students must be familiar with CNC machining and technology.
Topics: This course covers the basic concepts of SolidCAM for 2 ½ axis machining and 4th and 5th axis positioning.

Course: 3D Milling
Description: The goal of this course is to teach students how to use SolidCAM to machine various parts using 3D Milling technologies.
Duration: 1 Day (added to the 2-day 2.5D milling class = 3 day total)
Prerequisites: The course must be preceded by the SolidCAM 2.5D Milling Training Course, in which the basic concepts of the SolidCAM software are discussed.
Topics: This course covers the basic concepts of SolidCAM 3 axis simultaneous machining

Course: Simultaneous 5 Axis Machining
Description: The goal of this course is to teach students to use SolidCAM to machine various parts using Simultaneous 5 axis machining technologies.
Duration: Varies based on user experience
Prerequisites: The course has to be preceded by the SolidCAM 2.5D Milling Training Course
Topics: This course covers the basic concepts of SolidCAM for 5 axis machining strategies, including swarfing and trimming, for machining of complex geometry parts such as mold cores and cavities, aerospace parts, cutting tools, cylinder heads, turbine blades and impellers.

Course: Turning
Description: The goal of this course is to teach you how to use SolidCAM to machine various parts using Turning technologies.
Duration: 1 Day
Prerequisites: SolidWorks Fundamentals
Students must be familiar with CNC machining and technology.
Topics: This course covers the basic concepts of SolidCAM for 2 axis Turning.
