Solid models that come from imported geometry are hard to change, especially when the end goal is a smooth transition of two faces. That’s when combining surfacing techniques and solid modeling really comes in handy. In this video we’ll show how to start with imported geometry, trim away what we do not want, and then patch with a new surface to achieve the intended result. The final step of knitting the two surfaces together will give us a solid model once again.
